Holy Rosary Cemetery

The board met on Oct. 8, 2018

Over the last year, five burial sites have had new headstones placed on their grave.  The headstones cost was donated by parishioners.

There was a lot of discussion about how the cemetery is set up, size of plots etc.  There was discussion about how to improve the look of the cemetery.  One suggestion was to have a pile of black dirt that families can use to fill ‘the dip’ after a burial.  Also there was discussion to see how much it would cost to have a well dug so that water was available.  The altar was discussed.  Father got an estimate to see how much it would cost to repair the altar.  The cost was $10,000 and the Diocese said no.  Their recommendation was to dismantle it and then bury it.  The crucifix needs some repair also.

If your family has purchased the rights to be buried in the cemetery, please let Lori Haberman know who is to be buried where.  Some parents have purchased blocks earmarked for family members, but the parents are gone and the only information we have is that a block was purchased by a family. Please let us know if you are aware of whose plots have been purchased.  Also there are families that have moved away, but they have plots in the cemetery, if you have the address it would be great for us to contact them to let them know.

A reminder, that on July 19, 2017 the Parish Council increased the cost of a burial plot to $250.
